RAVA CHAKLI

Rava chakli is a great tea time snack.I like chakli very much.first time I bought them from a nearby shop.I liked its crispy taste. So I tried to make it at home. I used only rice flour to make it.Taste of homemade chaklies was awesome and really it was better than market.Above of all my kids liked it very much. Today I tried rava chakli
it is made with the combination of rice flour and rava or suji.

INGREDIENTS

Fine Rava or suji-1 cup
Rice flour-2 cup
Water -2 cup
Red chilli powder -1tsp
White sesame seeds -2tsp
Jeera-1tsp
Oil or butter-1tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
                               chakli mould
METHOD.
Boil the water in a pan.when water starts boiling, add suji and stir it continuously to avoid any lumps.it with be thick like upma in 2-3 minutes.
Switch off the flame and let it cool down. Add rice flour, salt, oil, red chilli powder, white sesame seeds, jeera. Mix all the ingredients very well and prepare a soft  dough with the help of water.
Make the logs of this dough to be fit in chakli mould. Put the log in the mould and revolve the mould handle in circular motion to give chakli shape.you can use foil paper to make chakli as it is easy to pick them up to fry from it.Deep fry them in batch on medium flame.4-5 in a time.It also depends upon the size.Flame should be medium otherwise in low flame they will soak the oil.Deep fry them till they turn golden in colour. Let them cool down and store in a air tight jar.Have them anytime when you want😃
